6 NEW TECHNOLOGIES

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

TWITTER
Last year I set up a Twitter page and I will continue to use it this year to communicate effectively with the rest of my group. I am able to share my thinking and attach information and pictures that relate to my work. I am able to receive new information instantaneously and get inspirations from others to help me with my work. I read Alan Rusbridger article that stated twitter is an extremely useful research tool.

FACEBOOK
Facebook was a good social media website to use as it allowed me to look up the pages of big, successful films. This gave me inspiration and was also helpful to see how the film was run and marketed by the big companies
SLIDESHARE
I used Slideshare to upload previous powerpoints that I had made. I found it a more alternative, easier way of presenting my work.

EMAZE
Like Slideshare, Emaze presents work visually with beautiful graphical tools and accepts PowerPoint upload. I used Emaze a lot when presenting my Art of the Title work, it was very useful and a unique alternative to Powerpoint.

PLANNING
WHATS APP
I used What'sApp to keep in touch when planning with my group. It was also very useful when it came to developing our characters.

PINTEREST
Pinterest enabled us to collect together a series of images for the mise-en-scene and props for our film opening was going to be set out. We sourced images of mothers, daughter and journalist/investigators, what they wore and their postures and gestures. This was essential planning to guide our directing of the scenes. Pinterest is a collaborative tool that let us build up an image bank.

GOOGLE DOCS
This is a sophisticated and flexible tool that enabled us to work collaboratively on the same documents. We used it to make the shot list. With Google Doc we are more likely to present our work in a more appealing way.
EMAZE
Like Slideshare, Emaze presents work visually with beautiful graphical tools and accepts PowerPoint

TRELLO
I have created a Trello which is a very useful organisational, online tool that helped me track my work.

CONSTRUCTION
DIGITAL CAMER
A Canon D550, D650

I MOVIE
I Movie was our main editing tool as we find it the easiest to use. It is good for cropping unwanted film and adding in extra sounds or effects.

TRIPOD

The tripod stabilised the filming so the final product looked much more professional and well done than it would have if we did it all by hand.

EVALUATION
FACEBOOK
We can invite friends to look at our film page and also gain feedback about our production. This feedback helped us evaluate our film opening.

 YOUTUBE
I used this for inviting feedback on my video as I uploaded my final film opening onto Youtube. I used the annotations on media to answer my question one. My production work will form part of Claremont’s media work. Claremont has its own YouTube channel.

  1. Whilst you have used a wide range of new technologies in the research, planning, construction and evaluation stages of your production, there should be more visual evidence here to make this particular response a better example of the use of new technology. Can you fix this?
